Society of Saint Vincent de Paul Christmas Fundraising Appeal

The Society of Saint Vincent de Paul in Newmarket and East Gwillimbury announces our most important annual fundraising appeal - to fund not only our upcoming Christmas Program, but also the food security and other support that we provide throughout the year.
The Society of Saint Vincent de Paul (SSVP) provides support to those individuals and families in our community who are in most need, regardless of religious belief. We serve over 900 people – including over 300 children. We support low-income families, single parents, adults and children with physical or mental disabilities, recently unemployed, refugees, elderly people living alone. Last year we made over 1,340 home deliveries of grocery food cards and boxes of fresh fruit and vegetables. Additionally, we provide one-time help for household items (e.g. bedding, diapers, mattresses).
Christmas brings added burden and anxiety for many of the people we serve. Your contributions to our SSVP Annual Christmas Fundraising Campaign make it possible to provide Walmart and Upper Canada Mall Christmas gift cards for the children, and boxes of fresh fruit and vegetables for our supported households.
Your gift, no matter the size, will make a difference in the lives of those often left out throughout the year but especially at Christmas.

We are pleased to offer the option of accepting the donation of publicly traded securities. Donation of securities offers unique tax-saving benefits.
The donor pays no capital gains tax and receives a charity tax credit based on the market value at time of donation.
The Society of St Vincent de Paul, being a registered charitable organization, can dedicate the full market value of the donated shares, tax free, to its charitable initiatives.
